Мы, удзельнікі сьвяточнага мітынгу ў гонар Дня Волі, віншуем усіх, каму дарагія свабода і незалежнасьць Беларусі, з гэтым найвялікшым сьвятам беларускага народу.
Разам з тым мы адзначаем, што сёлетні Дзень Волі праходзіць ва ўмовах, найбольш цяжкіх і брутальных за ўсе гады панаваньня дыктатарскага рэжыму Лукашэнкі. Сотні людзей кінутыя ў турмы, сярод іх – кандыдаты ў прэзыдэнты. Да іх прымяняюцца як псыхалягічныя, так і фізычныя катаваньні, а суды, што адбыліся, паказалі ўсю глыбіню амаральнасьці і беззаконьня інстытутаў улады.
Супраць лепшых прадстаўнікоў беларускай інтэлігенцыі ўжытыя так званыя “чорныя сьпісы”, што фактычна азначае забарону на прафэсію, гэтак як і для адвакатаў, якіх пазбавілі ліцэнзіі за абарону людзей, чыя віна заключаецца толькі ў тым, што яны выказалі сваю нязгоду са сфальсыфікаванымі выбарамі.

Таму мы, удзельніку мітынгу, патрабуем:

1. Неадкладна вызваліць усіх палітвязьняў.
2. Перапыніць усе крымінальныя справы супраць удзельнікаў мірнага шэсьця 19 сьнежня.
3. Спыніць перасьлед музыкаў і артыстаў, пісьменьнікаў і рэжысэраў, нязгодных з рэжымам.
4. Правесьці ў Беларусі новыя, справядлівыя і сумленныя, выбары без удзелу Лукашэнкі.
5. Спыніць генацыд беларускай мовы, надаць ёй не папяровы, а рэальны статус дзяржаўнай.

STATEMENT
Adopted at the Rally for Democracy in Belarus – Tribute to the Legacy of Belarusian Democratic Republic

We, the participants of the Rally for Democracy in Belarus in Toronto, Canada, paying tribute to the great legacy of the Belarusian Democratic Republic, that announced the birth of a new independent state of Belarus in 1918, acknowledge that today’s celebration has been marred by unprecedented brutality that Lukashenka’s dictatorial regime launched against the freedom loving people of Belarus.

The recent presidential elections in the country saw an unparallel level of fraud and corruption. As with several earlier elections, these were not recognized as fair by independent European observers. Peaceful protests of civilians ended with a wave of violent repressions and persecutions. Hundreds of peaceful protesters were imprisoned, went through unfair and biased trials. Unjust detentions, arrests and searches in the days following the elections, “blacklisting” of best representatives of the country’s intellectual elite are all measures aimed at stemming out any opposition in the country.

Therefore we, the participants of the rally, demand:

1. Free all the political prisoners in Belarus
2. Withdraw all charges laid against peaceful protesters of December 19, 2011.
3. Stop prosecutions of intellectual elite opposed to the Lukashenka regime.
4. Hold new and fair presidential elections without Lukashenka as a presidential candidate.
5. Revive the full legal and practical status of the Belarusian language in the county.
